How to create APK file in Android using Eclipse ?

Android APK (Application Package File) is the file format which is used to install and distribute android application software onto Google’s android application system.

Method for creating APK file :

Create a new project/ you can select existing project Go to package explorer and select the project you want to export

Method 1 :

Right Click on the Project -> Android Tools -> Export unsigned Android package Select destination folder and give name to your .apk file

Method 2 :

Right Click On the Project -> Android Tools -> Export signed Android package. (This is an extra step of APK with certificate) Select the project you want to export

Select existing keystore OR create new keystore

Select Existing Keystore

  • Location of certificate file
  • Enter password

Key alias Selection

  • Select Use existing key
  • Select Alias
  • Enter Password

Click next and give destination location and name to your .apk file

Fill Details

You are done. APK file created.
